Location: Hamburg, NJ - Full-Time - $65K-$90K (Base + Commission)

Automotive experience NOT required.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Assistant Service Manager, you'll be the linchpin between customers, technicians, and the front office. You'll help lead the team, drive sales, and keep the daily operations running smoother than a fresh oil change.

Customer Service & Sales

Greet customers with confidence and warmth-be the face of trust.
Write and manage repair orders from check-in to check-out.
Present and explain repairs clearly (we don't sell snake oil-we educate and empower).
Drive sales through value, urgency, and transparency.
Follow up with open estimates and help customers make informed decisions.

Team Leadership & Support

Support the Service Manager and help lead the team to success.
Keep technicians informed, organized, and accountable to timelines.
Coach front-of-house staff on scripts, service excellence, and upsell opportunities.
Step in where needed-whether it's solving a workflow hiccup or diffusing a tough customer moment.

Process, Precision & Hustle

Use our Shop Management Software (Shopware) to keep everything running tight.
Stay on top of timelines, updates, and vehicle progress.
Help manage the daily game plan-this is chess, not checkers.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in a sales, customer service, or team leadership role (automotive industry not required)
Proven ability to communicate clearly and confidently-both in person and over the phone
A track record of hitting performance goals and managing multiple priorities at once
Comfortable using technology and software to manage workflow and customer data (we use Shopware-don't worry, we'll train you)
Strong problem-solving mindset-you don't just point out issues, you help fix them
Team-first attitude-you lead with positivity and help others succeed
Ability to coach and support staff, reinforcing process and accountability
Coachable and growth-minded-you're always looking to get better and step into more responsibility
Must be able to work on-site full-time in Hamburg, NJ-no remote options
Valid driver's license (you may occasionally move customer vehicles)
